Desperate Housewives *holds hands up in preparation for assault*
Okay, okay. I know that in some circles this show has a bad rap. "Desperate Housewives? How could a show called THAT be any good?"
Well... I'm certain you've run into people who said "How could a show called "BUFFY" be any good?"
Anyways. I'm really hooked on DH, it's intriguing. I love all the mystery and the intrigue. I've stopped trying to figure out what happened in the past because both season finales so far have thrown me for a loop.
It's really interesting that behind all the beauty of wiseria lane is all this murder and blackmail and craziness... and the funny thing is... stuff like that actually happens... I watch the show and I recognize the housewives as people I know... mostly I go "Holy shit, my parents are Lynette and Tom Scavo."
Wondering if there was anyone else here who watched.

Not I. Though I admit that I murder and intrigue sounds... um, intruiguing I guess.

It's really addictive... each season kinda sets you up with four indivudal plots and then one overarching big secret that they keep giving you bits and pieces of (e.x. in the very first episode it starts with a woman named Mary Alice shooting herself. While going through her stuff her friends found a letter she recieved the day she died reading "I know what you did, it makes me sick, I'm going to tell" and the season unravels that mystery.) then the seasons end with a kickoff to what the mystery of the next season will be.

Hmmm... Well dress me up and call me Uncle Herbert, this show is actually starting to sound good! I love all of those British mystery shows.

Okay then, Uncle Herbert.
I'll bring the first season home with me over break. It's so good. Meanwhile I'm gonna stomp my foot until sunday because we were left with a "To be continued" last week and a promo telling us someone dies.

I go through phases of whether I like DH or not...currently liking season3 thus far, so can't wait to see what happenes with.
I agree, I like all the British mystery stuff, but I am British and whenever there is nothing decent on TV, its what I watch, so...can;t help it, lol.

Not yet no....but as we're slightly behind, I won't have had as much information on the topic at present. Sorry.

I've never watched the show, mainly because I'm not sure it's my cup of tea (sounds British right lol). On a radio station here though, they talk about it every mon. so i know all the storylines.

Fun fact, I thought BTVS and ATS really had it with their episode title allusions ("Fear Itself" "I Robot You Jane" "Over The Rainbow" yada yada so on and so forth)
But almost all of the DH Episode Titles, with the exception of less than a dozen are names of songs or lines of songs written by Stephen Sondheim... It finally bit me in the ass when I saw "Your Fault", "Children Will Listen", "I Know Things Now", "It Takes Two" and "No One Is Alone"... an upcoming episode IS called "Into The Woods"... In S3 a couple of episodes are named after Sweeny Todd songs.
The non-SS ones are
"Running to Stand Still"
"Come In Stranger"
"Anything You Can Do"
"Guilty"
"Suspicious Minds"
"Come Back To Me"
"My Heart Belongs to Daddy"
So 7 out of... 60 something are not Stephen Sondheim songs...but they are songs...
Yes I know there is a BTVS Into The Woods... apparently Joss is a SS fan.
