Graphics Programs Was just wondering what programs have you lot used in the past to make your art? And now, even. Have you only used one program, or have you used different programs from a beginner to where you are now? And how do you feel about them?
Sorry, for so many questions - just curious.

I've always used Adobe Photoshop, though I started with something called Adobe Photoshop Family Edition 3 or somehting. Couldn't do a whole lot in there...eventually I got 7.0 and now I have CS2. I could live without it.

I'm just wondering as fot the past year I've been using a photo editor (not that fancy, but it came off my digital camera), and I think I out grew it ages ago..if that makes sense, as you can;t do a lot with it.

Yeah, I think you should def. upgrade. Obviously it can be costly though for Adobe.

Yeah, I might need too. Did notice yesterday that I have a trail version of Photoshop CS2 on the computer, which I haven't started using yet..good thing actually. Haven't had the time. Maybe over christmas.
Could use my student grant as I haven't spent a hell of a lot of it, lol...have most of it left over for when my next installment comes :)

Ive used loads of different things over the years most of them come with a camera or something so they werent really that good. I had wanted Photoshop for a while, but had never seen any in the shops near me. The only place i had seen them was online, but you had to download them (am not a lover of dl'in plus im still on dial up n would take way too long lol)
Anywho, last year i Photoshop Elements 3 on offer with Photoshop premier so i bought it. Ive been told that elements is nowhere near as good as PS7... but i disagree - having used PS7 now at college, i find Elements easier.
Okies well im done lol

Ok, after having a little play with this trial version, it has made things easier with layers by being able to hide them and see any mistakes etc, if you've erased the background etc. The effects I recognise from other programs such as photofiltre, although I never liked that program, just something about it.
Trying to find tutorials for some stuff, such as colourising, but don;t recommend doing it with the worlds worse mouse, lol. It is a bad mouse but then, it was also my first attempt at a colourisation so some fault on my part too.
Overall, I'm liking it so far from my little play :)

Yeah it's def. a fun program once you get the hang of it!!! If you are interested in buying it, I would check student discount sites. I got mine for $200 with Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Go Live, and Image Ready (I might be missing a few other things too). I did get it through my school, so you can find out if they offer it at your school.

I might be able to get student discount in some places where you can buy it - really should check what places my student card I actually get discounts bar mcdonalds, because I know I get discount there when I was dragged to it, lol.
Also, the holidays are nearly upon us and not long after is my birthday, so money might not be an issue - depends how generous people are, lol.
Had a little more of a play with it today, as I finished all my work I had to do for University this week. Keep forgetting to select the layer that I want to change, lol...so glad you can delete steps. Play around with effects way to much. I know what feathering is, which is quite a useful tool...beter thn before when I had to use a high contrast to get things to look kind of blended - if you get that, lol.

Yeah, feathering is a lifesaver lol.

Yeah, I'm getting that from playing with it, lol.
