Love vs. Lust.
Why is love so a-may-zing? What's wrong with just having lust? I mean, does love even really exsist? It generally doesn't last... at least not for... some people. I just don't get why everyone needs the whole love thing when it comes to relationships. I mean we generally base a "boyfriend/girlfriend" on looks anyway. It's just human nature. We look for the best mate to have children with. I frankly do not want to have children but blah, blah, blah -- that'll change. Lust is frankly all we need and I wonder when love ever even came into the picture. Any oppinions on this?

I agree...we generally first fall for someone based on looks. I have a huge crush on SMG and Kristen Bell, which started because I think they are hot (lol). Anyway it's obviously not based on personality, because I don't know them (isn't that hard to believe lol). And this applies to people in real life too, generally people don't fall for people because of their personality...for most people looks is the first thing and then personality. When they are truly in love though, I believe it becomes the opposite. So, I see what you are saying, but I do believe love exists and but I also believe all originates in lust. I don't think I believe in love at first sight though.

Ah! But then if love does exist and does originate from lust and you generally fall for someone when you first see them (according to appeariance and all that) and you fall in love with them later (way too many "and"s...). Then couldn't love at first sight exist?

love devlopes over time. Lust is the animal nature of sex. I lust after someone, and he lusts after me. But i DO love my boyfriend (ya i know from all that trouble i had before lol i learned i do love my boyfriend) Lust is just an animal attractoion. Lust is SO much fun though lol. And love, is security. I dont have angel & buffy love for my boyfriend, but i do love him. thats my take on it

VampX13- 11-28-2005

You're right lust is a lot more fun... But lust entertains love. It can be used as a tool to develop it and can also be used to actually make it. Lust is all about appearance. Love is all *sings:* getting to know you, getting to know all about you. That's my take on it. Yay!

Steve - you have a thing for older women? You dog. Just kidding. Kristen Bell is 25 ( ) I have the biggest crush on a guy in my German class. He's such a dork but it's SO cute when he's being one. He tutors people in math (maybe chemistry as well) through calc 2! He's also really tall so I call him the Jolly Green Giant. The one odd thing about him is that he's really into Christianity. Not that it's a bad thing. It's refreshing. Back to the topic, I've never really had a lust relationship. I've had a love relationship and it was absolutely wonderful. Best thing in the world in my opinion.

Steve- 11-30-2005

Wow, I didn't know she was 25. I can live with that though lol.

VampX13- 12-01-2005

I've never really understood the men and older women thing... *Shrugs*. I probably never will... seeing as how I'm not male or an older woman. ;p

Steve- 12-01-2005

Well it doesn't bother me that I have crushes on older celebrities, because I know I'll never met them, much less ever date one. But when it comes to actual dating I'd rather go with someone my own age...1-2 year difference at most I think. I think the whole Ashton/Demi thing is gross.

I think men have a thing for older women, as they see her as a motherly figure, who will look after them and care for them, but just getting something extra. Thats my opinion anyways, no offence or anything.

Steve- 06-06-2006

From a male perspective, I think I can agree with that lol.

Interesting topic VampX13! On the older women thing, I agree with patchi. I have friends in relationships where the guy is younger then the girl (about a year), and generally more "immature". I think it's cute though. In way they get to take care of each other equally: on one hand, she's older and on the other, well, he's a guy. ^^" But lust entertains love. It can be used as a tool to develop it and can also be used to actually make it. I totally agree - I mean, you can't have love without lust. At SOME level, you have to be physically attracted to your partner, right? Lust is fun and passionate in that sense. I think it certainly makes relationships more interesting. Kind of like comparing the Buffy/Riley and Buffy/Spike relationship.
