I really like them all, but my fav. is probably the second one. It looks like there's some artifacting in the David Boreanaz one, so you should try resaving it with a higher quality setting (if you are using photoshop and still have the original psd available). I thinkthe first one could use some more contrast too. She's got on a dark coat and her hair is dark in it, so it'll make for some real nice contrast with the light background.

Thaks for the constructive feedback as always.
I'm not big on the technical lingo so what's the artifacting thingy. I noticed when I printed the david one out at work (oops! not supposed to do that) I noticed that I haven't really gone over his face right so it looked at bit purply (if that's even a word)
In the Sarah one I was aiming for the dreamy kinda lost in sleep vibe. Do you mean that I should have let the black stand out more from the background and not put the textures over it. As I said I'm not big on the whole definition of things  I think I put the textures over it to cover some of the crap blending that I just couldn't get right. I sort of just mess about and if I like how it turns out I'm quite happy. I was crap at Art at school. The only thing I could draw that resembled anything like it was supposed too was a spider plant.
My fave is the second one too.

Well artifacting (it's not a common term I don't think...I learned it in my web design class) just refers to when JPEGs are fuzzy. It has to do with how JPEGs compress file size by getting rid of data for colors that are the same. It causes pixels that are supposed to be the same color have slightly different shades than the one next to it. If that makes any sense at all...I can't seem to find the definition in my notes from class if I do I'll let you know to help clear it up. It's not really that important I could have just said it looks kind of fuzzy lol...so just try to save at a higher quality in photoshop (if you need help let me know).
For the SMG one what I meant was ...you should leave the texture as it is, but make the dark colors darker and the light colors lighter. Kind of like my Veronica Mars signature banner. The dress is really dark, but her skin is really bright. But you might think this takes away from the dreamy feel then maybe you don't want to do it, or you may not want to go that extreme. You can always play around and just not save it if you don't like the changes.

Cheers Steve. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I take it you mean that when I save it as a jpeg I need to set the Image options quality to about 8 or 9 and the quality meduim or higher, or am I way off base.
What do you save them as, as a matter of interest.

Yep that's what I mean!!!! It's probably better though when saving to go to "Save for Web" you have much better control over quality and you can see a preview while saving to see extactly how high you have to go (typically 70-75 is what I do because "Save for Web" goes 1-100).
I save all of my wps as jpegs too. You don't want to use GIFs at all because those are only for flat color (one solid color) and PNGs are good, but really big.

Cheers again Steve :D
