Xander Vs Angel
Well any buffy fan knows about the very strange xander-angel friendship :? :lol: during the first three seasons of Buffy :roll: well i've to say that xander was realllly jealous sometimes so what do you think? are you with Angel or with xander?

Hum... intersting question! I loved the idea that Xander loved Buffy, but I hate when he was catty and I hate when Angel was all superior to xander. But I think I would have to go with Xander cause I have a tendency to vote for the underdog :P

/\ I agree. I feel that Angel treated Xander as though he were lesser all the time. But I also think that Xander was TOO protective of Buffy at times like she couldn't handle herself (partly because of jealousy I think). And sometimes they both overreacted to things involving her!

its too hard to choose. i love them both. xander would've been a good normal boyfriend but buffy isnt exactly normal. ah i cant choose

I liked xander..but at the same time he annoyed the hell out of me..by season 5..his jokes..got old and annoying..cant believe he was cheering buffy on to kill angel..or when he tried to..or when he yelled at her for leaving..I understand being angry..but he forgot she was hurt..he seemed pretty selfish

I agree, I don't like how sarcastic he got with people at times that they were upset...like mentioned in the other thread in season 7 when Buffy gets kicked out.

Im ganna take Angel's side cuz someone has to. And maybe Angel treated Xander as a lesser because he felt threatned by Xander. There are lots of references in the show to Angel not feeling he deserves Buffy and wanting to give her the normal life thing and Xander could easily give Buffy the normal life thing. And it was obvious that Xander was into Buffy - thats a mix for feeling threatened. And there wasn't exactly tons of Xander Angel interaction as there could have been, so some of it could be chalked down to not exactly knowing eachother because with Angel being a vampire I could see how Xander would act hostile to him. It could go both ways but Im on Angel's side on this one :P. ~Acila

I support angel 100000000% all the way. i mean dont get me wrong i love Xander its just angel is so right for buffy. I think that if Xander and Buffy dated it would either be really weird or he would end up getting himself killed. anyway as spike said and i agree with him angel needs a bit of monster in her man :D :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :evil:

Both. They were both jerks to each other, each reacting in their own way to feeling jealous of the other. Xander resorted to sarcasm, Angel to the "I'm better than thou" attitude. Though I could never see Xander in a relationship with Buffy, so in terms of who I would prefer to see with Buffy, Angel wins hands down. Personally, I think Angel and Buffy were perfect together, though problematic.

I think at first Angel didn't understand Xander's animosity until he realized Xander liked Buffy. Then I think he was curt back in reaction to Xander's attitude. But this isn't really a "side" issue. Xander loved Buffy and she didn't return his feelings. It would be natural for Xander to feel antagonistic toward the recepitent of her affections. Plus Xander sees things in black and white. Buffy was a Vampire Slayer, Angel was a Vampire ... they shouldn't be attraction to one another, and they definitely shouldn't be in love! To him, that was just wrong. So he had two very good reasons to not like Angel. And Angel, who secretly thought he shouldn't be loving a Slayer, probably felt antagonism toward person he suspected might be right about the relationship.
